Our venture into discovering the rare and amazing Catalonian Sheepdog began with our desire to find the perfect herding dog that would become one of our family. We began searching not only for a dog that could herd, but also for one that had intelligence, could be a good house dog and one that was gentle with our children. That is how we came upon our beloved Gos d'Atura Catala or Catalonian Sheepdog! Catalan's work well in all seasons and temperatures and their beautiful, rugged coat proves easy to care for. Catalonian's have a natural instinct for herding, are tireless while playing, working or hiking, yet are calm and docile inside the home. They are intelligent, friendly and gentle with children, yet a loyal guardian to the entire family. These traits make them a devoted companion and dedicated working dog. Within our breeding program our commitment is to preserve the original Spanish bloodlines and strict breed standards of the Gos d'Atura Catala, keeping true to their origins. Our dogs live in our home, so from the time our puppies are born they will be among our family, friends and other pets. We believe this will accustom them to many sounds and situations to aid in their socialization process before being adopted. With Corda, Mesa and Riata's excellent lineage, we are sure to produce some outstanding Catalonian puppies. |
